maria, amongest others today, and it was, what do they celebrate in
UK or scotland like the day here ??? Good Question , as I remember
the religious ones, and well Guye Fawkes Day <night> thats fun..
but nothing to celebrate Magna Carta Day or 1066 or something...
gee we better get the lads in UK , Scotland and Ireland on this.

The Welsh have St David's Day (1st March), the Irish have St Patrick's Day
(17th March (I think) the Scots have St Andrew's Day, don't know the date.
They are all bank holidays as far as I know but they certainly don't make
a big deal about them like the ex-pat Yanks in London on the 4th of July.
As for St Georges day, English,23rd of April. It is not a bank holiday and
their are no celebrations, though some people have agitated for them, the
government won't hear of it.
I have said beefore how we don't really celebrate anything and how I would
like to see something like Mardi Gras or Fasching in Germany/Austria,
three days of fun.#
The French have Bastille Day. I might be there this year so I will see
what they do. In Holland they have dancing in the streets an the Queen's
birthday,30th April and floats and fun. They also make a big deal of the
New Year but that's all.
Guy Fawke's Day si mainly for the kids. Just fireworks and toffee and the
bonfire.
What a boring country !
