Hi Pete and disinerested parties,

Ironically, the subject has come up on a few radio related internet
message boards of recent sabotage to an AM radio tower. It seems some
green nuts toppled it thinking radio waves cause cancer or some dumb
thing, immediately I was reminded of Pacifica and responded with the
tales of fallen towers and dynamited transmitters. It seems stupidity
never ends...

On a semi-related note, I didn't ruffle pimples nor feathers, I did
plenty of on and off site work for colledge radio stations in the area
too. Off site production work was my specialty since the facilities of
the pirate station served better than having kids underfoot in the prod
room, one bunch even stole my "comfort station" toilet flush station ID
and changed the call letters to suit WFMU. (;->) It's still around BTW as
an independent after Upsala shut it's doors but that's another rather
long story. The on site work was trying to de-hum a carrier current
transmitter, that drove me crazy being it was centered in the power
distribution quad rather than being an audio problem. Somehow the AC
mains were modulating the carrier directly and not being an engineer
equipped with the proverbial slide rule I spent the day trying one feed
after another inside the distribution panel <scary> and fiddling with the
matchbox until it finally went down to a dull roar, never did go away
completely. <grrr> Pimples don't bother me as long as they're not mine.

Speaking of Combat, I can see the face of the Nazi Colonel but can't
remember the actor's name! That's darn frustrating because he was in
plenty of movies in similar roles, I should know it. Rat Patrol struck me
as funny, I suppose the character was supposed to be Rommel but he looked
more like Fearless Leader. Then there was Leon Askin but that's another
show, heh heh, who was he? Speaking of Rommel, we had one for real only
he didn't join in our war games, nutz.

Loosely related to Brazil Day etc. this past weekend we had BBQ on
Saturday and Sunday that may as well have been in a Cuban night club. The
music was Rhumba all the way, one CD that played endlessly and when it
got around to Oye Como Va I could just scream, Carlos Santana would have
gone on a rampage the way they butchered it. It got worse, Sunday
somebody complained so they put on some Disco crap! Oh well, at least the
food was good and one thing I'll never pass up is a free meal. (;->)

Yeah, Felix, I'm so tempted to say one of my old CB phrases here but it
surely wouldn't pass muster. I'll give you a clue, something about his
"magic bag". LOFL

I leave you to puzzle this one out. Here's another animal in my
menagerie, which song by Frank Zappa has one of these?
