Equipment used is an FT817, external 2.8AHr 12V SLA battery, fishing pole,
dipole cut for 5.3985MHz. For 144MHz I've used the rubber duck that comes
with the 817.

There's not much VHF activity up here and whilst I've had enough contacts
to be able to claim the hill (4 contacts) it can be hard going stirring
them up. However, the story on 5MHz is much better.

On 5MHz, ODX is Devon using SSB and 5W with an low inverted V dipole with
the apex about 4m AGL. On 145MHz, ODX is about 70 miles on FM with about
2.5W into the rubber duck.

Seasons Winterval!
