Kenneth Orval Higgs, N0KFQ, age 88, died on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at
his home. He was born September 19, 1930 in Port Arthur, Texas the son
of Alton A. and Mildred Farmer Higgs. Kenneth grew up in Port Arthur, El
Paso, Texas, and Greenland, Ark. He graduated from Greenland High
School. Kenneth was a Korean War veteran. Following two years in the
Service he moved to Port Arthur, Texas where he began his employment
with Texaco Research.

Kenneth married Billie Walling Weatherford in 1967. He retired from
Texaco Research in 1985 and he and Billie moved to Branson, Mo. where
they enjoyed their retirement years. In Branson Kenneth was very active
in Amateur Packet radio for all the years he was there. He taught packet
classes and maintained the MOBRA Packet Node.

Survivors include: his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Joyce Higgs
of Bridge City, Texas, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two
sisters-in-law, Alice Higgs and Dixie Higgs and several nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Billie
Walling Higgs, a son, Larry Wayne Higgs, a sister, Shirley Sikes and two
brothers, Bartley D. Higgs and Alton A. Higgs Jr.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at
McCord Cemetery in Elkins, Ark. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4
p.m., Monday, November 5, 2018 at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.
