Hello, and thanks for your time and interest.

I'd be glad to hear from anyone who has succeeded in transferring files (other
than from the NOTEBOOK function) between the Organiser, and a PC - WITHOUT
Windows.

I have no problem transferring to/from the Notebook function but "folders"
from other functions can seemingly only be handled by the xmodem method; and
the software makes no allowance for NOT first needing to dial, then go
through a login routine.

An alternative approach would be if I could first copy fat blocks (eg telephone directories) into the Notebook function.

There seems no point in getting the fax/modem CE-FM1 as that too would "expect"
to dial and log on first.

(Of course I could fax to a nearby server and then get it faxed or emailed back;
but what I'm looking for is a quick and easy way which does not call for much
more hardware or software.

(I have programs for receiving faxes, and/or dialling up and logging into
servers and BBSes.)

I am in the habit of not seeing the wood for the trees so I look forward to
a forest tour.
