London is preparing for it's Olympic games later this month.
I think that shooting may be coming back despite it's illegality in the
face of many other countries.

It seems to be confined to the military, though. Many high roofs around
the stadium have been turned into gun sites, including Anti Aircraft guns
and Surface to Air missiles. Perhaps they are re- introducing clay pigeon
shooting.

The people who live in these buildings have protested vigourously against
the guns on the roof but, as usual, the government has taken no notice.

I never watch the Olympics but I suppose there will be any unusual
happenings on the news. I have taken part in sports in the past but never
bothered watching them,I did watch the occasional bout with Cassius Clay
when I did boxing. When I did cross country running I actually ran the old
Marahon course from home to Much Wenlock in Shropshire, that was started
by a vicar back around 1850. The only sport I could still do, because it
usually involves lying down is shooting, usually putting .22 holes in the
centre of pieces of cardboard 25 yds away or, when in the military,
putting .303" (7.62mm x 55mm) guns to put holes between the eyes of man
shaped cut outs, between 200 and 400 yds away. I could still do it too, my
eyes work at that distance and I have no tremore, which is more important.

I wouldn't watch it, though.
