Hi Ian and all,
Interestingly enough you don't seem to have the political lobby we do on
this side of the pond. Once upon a time the Home Owners Associations (HOA
Nazis) forbade outside aerials but that putting a crimp in broadcast
revenue broadcasters fought back and won an exemption from the FCC. Sat
dishes that meet certain requirements are exempt at the federal level so
now I see them everywhere. Seems like OFCOM dropped the ball on this one.
Just for understanding, this is not a blanket exemption so hams are
taking a different approach at the state level. We're making inroads but
progress is slow, we've won numerous battles but we have yet to win the
war.
