SATOPS Morning Report: Wednesday, June 16, 2004
Day 168
NOAA-11, operating with only a single gyro for attitude control, a
steadily degrading power dissipation system, and a minimal complement of
operating payload components, will be decommissioned today at 1611Z after
over 15 years of service. The solar array will be slewed off the sun, the
battery charge and discharge paths disconnected, and all RF transmitters
turned off as part of the decommissioning activities.
Thank you, NOAA-11!
