NOAA-12 APT to be transmitted during conflict with NOAA-15 until December
7, 2003

NOAA-12 and NOAA-15 will enter a VHF conflict period on November 3 at 1500
UTC when
spacecraft separation is within 15 minutes. Based on direct readout user
requests,
NOAA will leave NOAA-12 APT ON and disable NOAA-15 APT during this
conflict. The
BEACON frequencies are separated enough that both can be left on during
this conflict. The
current RF conflict with NOAA-15 will end on December 7 at 0100 UTC at
which time the
NOAA-15 VTX-1 (for APT data) will be commanded ON. During this period,
APT will be
transmitted from NOAA-12 on 137.50 MHz as usual.
