Subject: STS-78 Contacts

Several people have comented on the inability to make contact
with the Shuttle. I thought I would just pass on some observations
from here. I was the second station to work Susan KC7NHZ as
she was testing the SAREX equipment out. I have heard numerous
passes when Chuck has been calling and receiving no answer.
The last pass visibal from northeast florida yesterday 6/26/96
Chuck was calling for approximately five minutes with no
takers, finally I called him one time and he came back to
me, That by the way was to let him know he was being heard.
I have noticed though that signal strength are down considerably
for this mission.
