Hi there..

There's further updates to the Southgate Club's website this week.

http://www.southgatearc.org

This week's updates include:

"59372 98324 19043 78903 95320...". The mechanized female voice drones
on and on... What have you stumbled upon? Chris Smolinski explains as he
takes us on a trip to the 'Shadowy Side of Shortwave'.

"Home Security Systems"
With crime rates soaring, now's the time to set about protecting your home and
property. Our guide to Home Security - courtesy of Maplin Electronics - tells
you all you need to know when thinking of installing alarm systems - including
the pros and cons of hardwired and wireless systems.

"Humour"
We've added another ten pages of humour. There's now FIFTY pages of jokes,
cartoons and comical photos for you to enjoy. So, if you need cheering-up,
then we have the tonic.

"10-metres"
Tony Dixon, G4CJC (sporting a brand new hairstyle) has the latest on the
10 metre band conditions. There's also a substantial list of 10-metre beacons.
Tony predicts some good conditions for the band this weekend, so it should be
a good time to get the rig fired-up and ready for some DX. Happy hunting!

'Dowsing'
If you're looking for an outdoor pursuit, and have a couple of metal
coathangers spare, then why not try your hand at 'Dowsing'. Beth G2XG has
the low-down, and explains just how to get started in this ancient art -
one which could prove fun for all of the family to try.

Disaster Strikes!
Our ISP's CGI server has suffered af malicious attack resulting in a number of
our CGI programs being lost. Amongst those programs hit were:
The Amateur Radio Forum, the Guestbook, the Active Diary, Classified Ads
and the Active Newsboard - all of which will report errors if clicked on.

I will try to get these restored as quickly as possible.
My apologies for any inconvenience.

So why not drop by this weekend..

You'll find what's left of the website ( hi hi ) at;

www.southgatearc.org

We're looking forward to your visit.
