Hallo Dave,
very simple to fixe this little 'irritation' HI!

You are set the autolist order in the wrong mode. The columns captions of the 
Sally windows are used to sort the data in that window by that column.

In particular you must note the NUMBER column.

If you see the NUMBER column you will note that its name is -NUMBER but if click 
over caption you will note that will be +NUMBER and the list of message will 
change from newest at top to oldest at bottom to oldest at top to newest at 
bottom so the purge will delete only the oldest messages.

Then, you must have the caption of the number column to +NUMBER.
