Hello,
we think about giving access to our shortwave bbs for psk31 users.
It was told, that years ago there were some bbs around providing this
kind of tty access to rtty users.
Now i'm interested if there's some unix based middleware that
virtualizes a connection to the bbs. Or at least, which kind of protocol
was in common use these days.
I ask in order to not re-invent the wheel.
I could imagine it should provide / could be done like this:
I. some way to say helo
login dl9sau
II. response
dl9sau logged on
III. typed data, then end of transmission like
+++
IV. idle time when
- call during login phase not recognized
- end of transmission (III) not captured in time
(or received some retransmission indicator; then clearing
the input buffer)
- no user input received for a while
-> then logout
73,
- Thomas DL9SAU @ DB0TUD.#SAX.DEU.EU
