Hmmm...well that might explain why on www.orkut.com I started
a community called the "Centre of the Universe" <Jackson's Point>
telling everyone why I separated from the town. Even calling it
the "Republic of Jackson's Point"...but I had no mass exodus yet
and no parting of the lake. I'm glad it isn't the Red Sea..or
it would have been the People's Republic...hee
Warren, what ever happened to that character who was on about
"Bob" downunder in OZ ? First he was gone, then resurrected
and then on the way to OZ for whatever reason??? Oh yeah
just got his call or a part...before the croc got'm EBT.,
Is he gone again <G>???

Yeah! QSL'ing isn't dead yet. It is however threatened by the
activities of something called the "QSL buro" as you say. I got
a QSL via this "buro" thingme. They then sent me a letter demanding
so many QSL cards, and some money to cover them mailing them. Then
they sent me a bill. I wrote them back, and in return they told
me they were blacklisting me < chuckles>. I told them they could
blacklist..white wash..and do whatever they wanted...so long as
they never throw me into tha briar patch. Please ol buro don't
throw me into the briar patch. ...I haven't heard from them
since, and I get QSL cards, and return same via the post office
and enjoy it the way it should be enjoyed.

Unfortunately, I never had or thought of SWL QSL cards from my
listening station. Only sent out cards from the CB <GRS> and
Amateur Stations. Never had business type "EyeBall cards"
They were mostly of the QSL card size when on that theme.
Must say the eyeballs were well done...wonder if this was done
via a mirror...to perhaps represent a weekend spent all night?
As for no cards from Canada...Sorry about that. I nearly switched
from wallpaper to vinyl to allow them to take printing better as
well be waterproof...but well they were "one of a kind" and
numbered and registered. being in the location I was, the cards
came in from all over. Wish I had the ham station where I had
the CB and SWL...

I loved the "coffee breaks" too! I still enjoy the same with
Amateur Radio, and well with the BBS, when it was online, I enjoyed
the same. Very much missed, but there is still the hammie coffee
breaks we have all the time in the local "chew n choke".
I too remembered the rat experiment. It still comes on TV once
in awhile, and I still believe what they are trying to tell the
world, but oh well, the humans don't and never will get the
message. Yeah just like the lonely trucker up here being thrown
about the truck babbling in his phoney southern drawl.

Saw that movie too! And the QSL cards. I liked it better then
the CB movie which had me laughing so hard. That was "Citizens Band".
Never seen that movie on in an long time.

If you stamp out Andy on a card...you might have to pay a royality?
Or DAVE EBT might drop by your place after he comes back from the
outback where he is doing-it-to BOB. I thought he was on his way
for a holiday over here in Ontario...but then he left,,then was back
and then on a tear over some legal beagle thing...oh well.

Well Warren...glad to see you back. I miss you and BOB! I miss
Dave too...I think that was his name. I guess after all the banning
and upmanship and being cute and whatever....oh well life goes on
