         24th Original-QRP-Contest (05/06-Jul-2008): Operators' Voice
         ------------------------------------------------------------

(Translation DL > G by DK3UZ, mni tks Eddi)

Having taken part is what counts. I -of 1922 vintage- entered for the
first time. (DL9QI)

Only had a little more than one hour, this time on 20m with home made
magloop, contesting without strain, thanks to all. (DL2NA)

Again a fantastic week-end with a lot of qrp-friends on the bands...
(LX/OP5R)

Again, it was nice to take part. Sometimes it was hard to get a QSO but
then, every QSO was very valuable. (OH5JJL)

All QSO on 20m, lots of QRM on 40m and bad propagation on 80m. Tks to all
for nice contest (F8ALX)

No optimum antenna yet at my new location. 10m endfed strung barely above
the roof. (HB9AFH)

Plan to change/improve things, this could take longer than the remaining
time until the HOT-Party. (DJ8BD)

Deep QSB, poor condx. Tks for contest. (G3VIP)

Conds weren't at their best, but it was fun just the same. The SW40+
doesn't work on 7115kHz. (DK3GP)

Propagation on 20m permitted European and even some DL contacts. But also
in this country interference from some electronic appliances is on the
increase. (DF3OL)

A fine contest with high activity on all bands. Had a ball on 40m using
my K2 feeding a dipole, and signals on 20m were also strong. (HB9DAX)

A few QSO from my holiday location, a camping area in Messanges-Plage.
(F/DL6OZ)

Some QSO on 80m, but 40m continues to remain my favourite band. (DJ3KK)

This time again a pleasure to take part in the proceedings. (DL4LBB)

Hats off to all VLP participants who proved you don't need kilowatts and
huge beams. (HA5TI)

Again a very interesting contest... 73, Ferdi (DJ3GE)

A comfortable contest. Just the right thing for old buzzards. Hpe cuagn
with a new homebrew 3 band trx in the next OQRP-Contest. (DL2XL/p)

...friendly mood, and many well-known stns worked on the bands. Good
conds, worked 4T3EK. Jumped when I eventually learned he was from Peru.
(DH3LK)

Prematurely finished on Sunday afternoon due to bad weather. (DL3MBE)

Wonderful weather, grandson came to pay visit. Fishing in the village
pool and other kinds of fun were in order. But I managed to sneak away to
make at least a few contacts. (DM5AA)

I had a lot of fun trying to switch the right antennas all the time. Huge
difference on most signals. (OK2RZ)

Fine contest, but deplorable low activity around 7115kHz. (DL4VBN)

Last year I built a K2 without using it very much so far. The OQRP contest
was a nice opportunity to put it to the test. At leisure I worked 100+
stations, which due to the K2's excellent receiver was a joy to do. (PA0RDT)

Was travelling and therefore couldn't take part in the competititon.
(OH7QR/m)

Sorry, only a few QSO on 80m because simultaneously active on 2m in a
VHF/UHF contest. (DL4KUG)

This summer weekend had plenty of other items on the agenda, but at least
I took part a little... (DJ7RS)

Not enough time because of visitors, better effort next time. (M/DL1RNN)

My solar panel fed accumulator endured. Changing bands meant climbing to
the roof to rematch the 20m long wire. (DF5SF)

Mni tks fr the vy nice contest. But conds were too poor here to get btr
result, sri. (UA3AO/p)

Mni participants so nice to work. Still bad condx. Cu next year. (PA0ATG)

My keyer became suddenly silent after one QSO. (F5ZV)

After pausing for 4 years I took part again. Used a computer log for 1st
time. Saturday conds fb on all bands, Sunday afternoon tedious. Met some
acquainted calls. The Sierra works well. (DF2OK)

Took part again after a long lapse. Used my ATS-3A which I assembled last
April. (DJ7JE)

Never before heard so many stations in the OQRP contest. The QRP art is
growing very quickly. (I0UZF)

Only few qso, just to say "hello". (IW1BCO)

Operated battery powered from a Croatian island (IOTA EU-136, IOCA CI-096).
Good clear signals, propagation not too helpful and CW skills need to be
improved further. CU. (9A/IK1ZYW)

Part time attendance only - but I enjoyed it very much again. (DF2SJ)

   Poor conditions on 80 and 40m. A little better on 20m. (I1BAY)

Sorry only a short log, had other commitments this W/E, but did manage a
few hours to give out a few points. (G3LHJ)

Sri om, poor propagation + poor antenna + vy QRL = few QSO (EA4OA)

Took part from holiday resort in OE, mountain shack at Falkertsee, 1700m
asl. (OE/DL3GER/p)

The 20m band sounded vy well down here in southern France, however,
thunderstorms passed through several times and I was obliged to shut down
the station, static became worse and I could not copy weaker stations,
sorry. (F5VBT)

The rig was not in its best shape and gave only 500mW max output for some
reason. However I could work almost all stations that I heard. Always nice
to participate this fine contest. (OH6DC)

This is a nice contest, I hope to be able to participate next time also.
(SM7HVQ)

This time I used my 20 years old transceiver and a straight key in the
OQRP contest. (PA1W)

... I had to go to work on Sunday. I always enjoy this contest and look
forward to the next one. (EI8FH)

Despite a relatively short effort I logged over 30 QSO. (DL4CW)

Took part while a big family party was on. This time I even made a few
contacts on 80m. (DL2SBA)

Participated again after long absence in which I let my code proficiency
become somewhat rusty, hi. (DL3MCI)

My very first QRP-Contest entry, and I had tremendous fun. Amazing what
can be done using QRP. (DK9HE)

Because of the VHF/UHF contest I lacked time needed for the OQRPC.
(PA0FEI)

Didn't get far - but I was part of it. (DL3LQM)

Lots of band-defending interludes when screen gapers invaded the
40m-band's amateur radio segment. (DK3UZ)

Condx normal on 20m..very poor on 40m.. 80m not too noisy for summer
(F6ACD)

All three transceivers employed in the contest were built by myself.
(DL2BXC)

Intended to "only" give out a few points ... great contest, kudos to
sponsors and participants. Smallest power = greatest fun. (DL5RDT)

Sportive challenge, same equipment as in the 1st OQRPC. Aim: To take part
without ambitions, fun takes precedence. (HB9JBO)

The working condx were fine although the sunspot number most of the time
was zero...7115+/-15 kHz was unusable due to heavy QRM (OZ9KC)

... the Argonaut held out, what more could I ask for. (DH4BAZ)

Very bad propagation on 80 & 40m, good on 20m, so made the largest number
of QSO on this band (I1XSG) (guess the HY-Gain TH6 beam was helpful, 7ST)

Negligible QRN - smooth. Built a new transmitter especially for the
OQRPC. (DL7VPE/p)

Thank you for adjudication (if logs like mine are still being accepted).
(DJ3LR) (Such painstakingly made paper logs like your's will remain
welcome, DJ7ST)

Quite enjoyed this OQRPC, the best since I moved. (PA9RZ)

This year the summer OQRPC fit into my "holiday window". Unfortunately
signals from DL were weak. Please continue to accept paper logs. (F/DL4IW/p)
(Be assured, we will. But an e-mail address for news and results would
benefit both sides. DJ7ST)

   Conditions supported participation well. (DJ2GL)

Sunday afternoon no good ... (DL1HTX) (For delayed entries things took
off lively on Sunday. DJ7ST)

Available time, weather, propagation, participation: All these things
were better this year. A really successful weekend and lots of pleasure from
equipment not used for a long time. (DM4TJ)

Nice contest again. Good propagation on all 3 bands (PA0RBO)

Due to a family party...I did not spend nearly as much time as normal
(G0KRT)

Again and again I have to overcome myself to operate CW, but it is what
defines amateur radio after all. (SP/DJ6HP)

Guests on Saturday, so took part only on Sunday. (HB9RE)

Handicapped by makeshift antenna and health problems. (DK5RY)

And in between contest stations also "normal" QRP/QRP contacts - this is
how it should be. (DL3PB)

After a longish absence I managed another entry. One of the best
contests! (DJ5AA)

The FT-7 endured reasonably well, some VOX problems (plug-in PC-board
connectors! DJ7ST) and a bit of RF in the power supply. (DJ3XK)

Planned to employ 3 home made monoband transceivers, in the end I found
this approach too irksome for operating portable ... (DL1ARH)

Tested my new FT-817 and stumbled into the contest... (SM6DER)

The density of stations around the QRP centres of activity was strikingly
high (DL1JGA)

My first QRP experience ... Operated from suburban garden ... no QRM from
so-called electric smog ... no problems copying weak signals ... (DF2UD)
