I've just seen the 7plussed circuit diagram.

If you want to keep the transistors all the same type then just add
extra transistors in parallel but include a small resistance in the
emitters (about 1 ohm) before they reach the 0v line.

There's an excellent article about such techniques on the G-QRP CD Rom.
