Dear QRP friends,

here the country-wise breakdown of the more than 250(!) participants
of the 15th ORIGINAL-QRP-CONTEST (27/28th Dec. 2003) who submitted logs:

134 from DL 7 from SP 5 from OZ 2 from GI 1 from EA8
21 from OK 7 from I 4 from HA 2 from LZ 1 from LA
14 from PA 7 from EA 3 from OE 2 from S5 1 from LY
9 from F 6 from HB 3 from OH 2 from UA 1 from SM
9 from G 6 from ON 3 from OM 2 from UR 1 from UC
                                                             1 from 9A

This amounts to a remarkable 20% increase over the corresponding
13th OQRPC one year ago. Using "snail mail" reminders "just in time"
another time has been effective without any doubt. Not only as far as the
final sum is concerned, but also when specifically targeted, as e.g. logs
from EA, G, and SP demonstrate. Into these countries info-letters were not
only sent to those who took part in the last OQRPC, but also to some
"sleepers". As a result G, the country which "invented" QRP, is again
appropriately represented after a statistical descent back in the
14th OQPRC to a "QRP developing country"

No change to the narrow absolute majority (52%) of participants from
DL, a majority we would be glad to lose. A higher number of logs from neigh-
bouring contries, as far as condx reach, is one declared aim of the
QRPCC's public relation efforts. Here again my request: Please send in
addresses of QRP-magazines, contest column editors, etc.. Postal and/or
e-mail addresses or Packet Radio mailbox, all are welcome!
A native language information about QRPCC events surely will stimulate a
few more operators into action.

The traditional "row" for 2nd place this time was won by the OK,
pronouncedly ahead of PA. Also as a result of active support from
OK-QRP-media. For this a cordial thank you!
