Power MOSFETS at RF
The most popular have been the IRF511 because it has a much smaller input C
(and feedback C) than most of the power MOSFETS. There have been several
articles in QST and ARRL handbooks. Many power MOSFETS have input capacitances
of a nanofarad or greater which makes for a great RF short circuit. Or at
least a very high Q tuned circuit when trying to achieve a few volts of gate
drive.
