I was surprised today to successfully qso with DL7HCK on 14068.48 using psk31 and
some milliwatt! At that level my signals were still readable in spite of qrm from
nearby stations (psk31) ; the trouble come with a phone (!!!) station on that same
frequency.
He used 2 Watts and at that point my output was 1,5 percent related to 5 watts....
on RF meter on the antenna line feeding my 12AVQ
Wiith some 5 watts out on my part the qso was very easy with reports about
559 and 549
Althoug I was used to the unbelievable performance of the pactor level 2 and my
controller SCS Ptc-II , I was surprised from Psk 31 and the soundblaster that DL7HCK used with DigiPan.
I was using the Ptc-II SCS controller and the terminal program WinPtc by PA0NC .
I also have the DigiPan on my PC , but I never used it on the air, having the controller
running normally all the time.
That's all: I am also interested in other tests , specially with Pactor level 2.
Have a Marry Xmas and a happy (QRP) new Year !!!
