I found information about a modification for the HF-QRP Transceiver SG-2020
on the SGC internetsite:

Subject: SG-2020 "AF Filter Pop" - Field Modification.
In an effort to continue to enhance product performance, SGC recently made
a manufacturing improvement which eliminates a "popping" noise which occurs
on the AF filter crossover adjustment, after the first turn on. All units
manufactured and shipped after July, 2000 already have this manufacturing
change.
This " pop" can be eliminated by a simple field modification, described on
the internet page from SGC
Note that this modification is not covered under warranty, and SGC will not
provide factory modification on any SG-2020 units in the field. However,
for anyone who wants to field modify their SG-2020, the parts will be supplied
by SGC at no charge, along with the documentation. To request this modification
information, simply contact SGC (by email or fax only), providing your name,
adress, the date of purchase, and serial number of your SG-2020.
