COMMENT:
After that "hung-over" Millenium-QRP-Contest at 1/2-Jan-00 most OM
hoped for a calm 8th OQRPC with a clear head.
But: we had a real "QRN-Contest" with an 80m band as good as unusable.
Though 80m especially around midnight in most ORIGINAL-QRP-CONTESTS has been
essential, this wasn't a real desaster, because:
A wonderful wide open 20m-band for short-skip qrp-qso with good signals and
many multipliers was more than just a compensation!
This was not only "business as usual" but a real new QRP-Contest feeling.
Your good participation uncovered these special condx!
Thank you for a successful contest!

P.S. If you don't know us yet:
The QRP-Contest-Community (qrpcc) is a supra-national network of qrp
enthusiasts (at present 170 promoters from 12 nations) pursuing the
organization and promotion of QRP Contests since 1992.
The qrpcc may be viewed as a support group taking care of the qrp'ers
interests in a self-help manner.
Since 1996 the qrpcc carries out the ORIGINAL-QRP-Contest, designed for
genuine QRP gear. The HOMEBREW & OLDTIME-EQUIPMENT-Party (HOT-PARTY)
since 1997 also is organized by the qrpcc.
The newest qrpcc event is the QRP-MINIMAL ART-SESSION which started at
Ascension Day this year.
The promoters of qrpcc are private persons supporting the idea by personal
participation in organizing, log-checking, printing address labels etc. or
by contributing to postage costs.
Because of its international design the qrpcc does not seek any affiliation
with national ham radio organizations but is open to any friendly cooperation.
