Hi Back Warren and as always to all ...

Yepper, just another stick-wrap to figure out, with the
dock help of a few friends, that spotted the twisted
pair ...but it is all sorted out now, without the help
of the marine unit.

Speaking of the Police..I had the Minstry of the Enviorment
dropby to ask me if the boat was an American boat? I
told them yes, I guess so it is in North America.

A couple of summer-make-a-job-whatevers < waste of taxes>
as they asked about direct dumping of grey and sewage
into the lake, as most boats do in the ocean.

Yeah ...all boats are a hole in the water to pour money
into. As for the engine, I got it running yesterday
"smoke and all" ...but that is coming....in this reply.

Tried. Can not hear the 710 station.

OOooooohhhhh ... nice way to say L with the K count.

I agree with most of your clip about Guantanamo, except
with the Spainish-American War, the US did take Cuba
and installed a US citizen as the President of Cuba
as he also was born in Cuba, so it was convient.

Simply put, Tomas Estrada Palma was told to allow the
Naval Base in return for Cuban Independence from the USA.
And most governments from 1903 to 1959 when Castro took
over were nothing but puppet governments, dictators
who allowed rich companys from the US to strip Cuba
of it's resources, which stopped when Castro booted out
family plantation owners like the Duponts, who carried
on busniess there and lived like Kings and supported
people like Batista however this dictator was spelled.

I agree nowadays none of this would be allowed to happen
and with Castro now going...going, and soon to be gone
it remains to see what will happen with his brother Raul
Castro and after that ...which I hope will be the end
of this mess, and a chance to settle once and for all
Gunantanamo status with a freely elected Government of
Cuba instead of another dictator.

I also hope at that time, the parasites are not allowed
to return, to reclaim property they think they have
via the methods obtained in the years 1903 to 1959.

I hope the UN moves in to smooth the process, but then
I have lost faith with them and their efforts elsewhere.

 Hmmm! you fixed the logo.....

Now for yesterdays "hole in the water" adventure.

I finally got back to the "hole" and got the engine
connected to the fuel line, and lines or sheets where
they should be, and looking out, there was a light
breeze for a shakedown cruise...so I thought I'd
have a no stress ride.

Engine running, and a nice smoke screen, I castoff
and I thought I compensated for propwalk, which didn't
seem to happen...mmmmm. In fact backing out wasn't
happening, and the breeze in the dock area was pushing
me in another direction...so a little extra power and
she started to backout ....and thats when I thought the
rudder was disconnected...no leeway felt or seen...just
backward motion and heading for another docked boat.
Just wonderful ! Had a few cuss words for Audrey2.

I thought perhaps the owner had misplaced the motormount
for the outboard 8hp motor, so I loosen the motor
and steered trying to use the motor and the rudder
and well backed rightout the channel to the channel
and then it slowly started to answer with both control
and I got it out into the lake for a bit of a sail
until ... my past caught up to me ...some how I get these
things.

Two women, were out in the lake without lifejackets and
in a canoe. They paddled out from shore to say hello
and I sort of knew they were neighbours from a few
streets over...One was a visitor from somewhere...no
thought of danger..and wanted to go to an Island a
few miles out. I stayed with them back to shore
shadowing with the boat, so the marine unit would not
see them ...and you know the grind there...

After that ....well 1 hour and the breeze died. Motored
back and slowly worked the "hole" back to the dock where
it stopped on it's own...and with the assistance of
the harbour staff...got it docked.

When I got home, Maria ripped into me, telling me I was
a child....and then I saw the blood flowing down my
leg and a little nick from something I knew I had
done earlier at home this morning...somehow it
had broken over.... SO..I ended up at home under
medical care of my Sweet Maria....hee hee hee.

In all not a bad cruise ..eh? Saved a few from coming
to grief, and some TLC from my wife...hahahaha.

 Thats is all...back to you.

 Peter
