Notes of interest:
FR5- REUNION ISLAND. Roland, FR5AB, has been active this past week on
10 meters PSK31 and SSTV. For PSK31, watch 28120 kHz after 1030z.
For SSTV, watch around 28677 kHz after 1100z. He is also active
on RTTY on 20 meters after 0230z. Joseph, FR5HA, has also been
active on PSK31, but on 20 meters (14071 kHz) after 1630z and
again after 0245z. [TNX OPDX]
HF0- SOUTH SHETLAND ISLANDS. Miroslaw Stefanski, SP7JKW, will be active
during the whole year of 2002 as HF0POL from King George Island
(IOTA AN-010, WW loc. - GC07SU). He will operate CW, RTTY and
PSK-31 (maybe a little on SSB) on all HF and WARC bands. QSL via

HS - Kurt HS0ZBS has moved to another place of Thailand to Prachinburi
Province and must drive on the car 30Kms to the closest InterNet.
He is temporary not active on Radio. He plans to be QRV soon used
bamboo wires and Magn. Loop anteannas.Next year he expects to have
a tower and install better antennas. [TNX HS0ZBS]
S9 - A group of experienced operators from Norway and Sweden (namely
LA6FJA, LA7THA, LA5QKA, LA5UF, LA6EIA, LA7WCA, LC3EAT, LC6ZBT
SM5COP and SM5IMO) will be active from Sao Tome (AF-023) on 4-10
February. They have been given oral permission and hope S79LA will
be issued to them.They expect to have at least two stations on the
air 24 hours a day and plan to operate on 160-6 metres CW, SSB,
RTTY, PSK31 and may be SSTV, with amplifiers, a wide range of
antennas and an emphasis on the low and WARC bands, digital modes
and 6 metres. The Pilots will be Trond/LA9VDA (North & South
America and low bands; e-mail la9vda@online.no), Tor/LA3WAA
(Europe, Africa and 6 metres; e-mail torpet@online.no) and Teru/
JM2HBO (Japan, Asia and Oceania; e-mail teru@k-net.or.jp). QSL
via LA2N (Sore Sunnmore Gruppa av NRRL v/ Otto Norhagen, NO-6143

VK9M MELLISH REEF (Update). Adam, VK4CP (VK9ML Pilot/Webmaster),reports
that the VK9ML team is interested in comments regarding whether
they should run either PSK-31, RTTY, or neither during their
DXpedition to Mellish Reef in April 2002. RTTY and PSK-31 both
have pros and cons, and they are simply asking which mode you
would prefer them to operate on. If neither is desirable, then,
of course, they can spend more time concentrating on CW and SSB
operation. Let them know your thoughts in the Poll they are
