I used an old 486dx2 running 50mhz for many months using the original
G3PLX program (version 1.08), with Windows 95.
No problems, but I couldn't run any other psk programs.
BTW, I was using 40 Megs. of ram.

Thanks for all the help.
I had a new sound card installed in the 486 dx ll while leaving for MS for
field day/vacation.
The 486 has 40 meg of ram and runs windows 95 fine.
The new sound card eleiminated the error messages when loading PSK software.
we didn't jhave much time for antenna work the day we arrived and i ran a
random wire to the upstairs of the old farmhouse. I was receiving on PSK
imediately using winpsk. transmitting was a disaster as RF was getting into
computer.
After insatalling a nice DEZ for 40 meters, I was on the air for a couple of
days, then the program won't give me a complete waterfall, and has no
signals. So I don't know what is wrong now, but I made about15 contacts.
So I am back in LA nwo, and will see what else I can figure out. But the
486 worked a while for what its worth. i think the folks with the 8 bit 16
bit theory may have had it right, I have some kind of AW card now.
Thanks Again, and I hope to be back on PSK soon.
Couldn't get digipan or logger to run, after several trys relaoding software
from disc that came with rigblaster.
