Subject: [psk31] Linears

Hello PSK users,
when I raised the question of linears in connection with PSK a couple of
days ago, I
couldn’t expect such an avalanche of reactions. However, I was surprised
about the
emotional attitude in many positions. Clearly, this is a positive sign
for our hobby
said to be outdated in a world of e-....
I have learned from the whole discussion that we do not have so much a
question of
LINEARS but a question of RECEIVERS as Marcus put it. The new ICOM
IC-756PRO we use now in our club station (HB9LF) allows - in SSB - a
filter
bandwidth of 50 Hz (!) in the IF-stage and AGC only within this range.
Therefore,
strong adjacent signals (from big guns or OMs nearby) are not anymore a
serious nuisance provided such signals are 'good' signals.
Thanks to all who have participated in the discussion.

I want to thank all those who sent me the dope on connecting up to my
Icom 735. I have been listening and hope to be on the air in the next
week. This whole thing reminds me of the 1970s. At that time 2 meter rigs
did not have PL boards built in. It was great to find all the info from
various hams to connect up a PL to all the different rigs. Special thanks
to Ernie, WM2U for his great website giving info for a number of
different HF transmitters.

Subject: [psk31] Need help connecting Ts-440s

Can someone please send me some info on connecting my TS-440S to my
laptop soundcard? I have a 3.5mm audio output jack on the laptop, and
I would like to connect it to the AFSK input on the TS-440S, but as I
can't find my manual, I am unsure of what the voltage levels should be.
If anyone has done this, please get in touch with me.
