Was there a thread some time go about laptops with sound cards suitable for
PSK31?
I am about to buy a laptop to replace an aging dektop and any input with
regard to one which would be suitable for amateur radio use would be most
welcome.
Thanks

I have a Dell Inspiron 7500 which I bought for work that works well on PSK
with PSK31SBW and Digipan.

What do you put on a qsl card, under the 2-way mode, for psk31?

there is an easyer way:

DigiPan uses the RTS pin (7) on the RS232 port (DB-9 connector) while
all my other digital software use the DTR pin (4). What to do? just solder
two diodes, anodes to pin 4 and 7, solder the cathodes together and to the
trigger pin on your switch in the transmitter or the base (in series with
the
resistor) of your switch. It works very well. Any old diodes will do.
This is a repeat of an earlier response and until the software switch works
in DigiPan is the way I solved the problem.

| between 5 and 7. It seems the software designers haven't
| standardized on which pin to use.

I've used a Compaq 1590DMT and a Compaq Presario 1210 without problems...

I put PSK31. It doesn't ask for an FCC mode identifier.
