Hmm.. why?

When we work tcp/ip i think we must have some sort of "line protocol",
when we use this on multi-host LAN...

Look at Ethernet, here is Ethernet protocol the "line protocol".
(Ethernet HW-adress == AX.25 Callsign)

(E)AX.25 in Linux is no problem i think, it's no problem to set
higher MTU at ports with (E)AX.25 attached, BTW, DAMA protocol is
also implemented into the kernel...

I don't say _we_must_use_(E)AX.25_with_tcpip_ ,
but why mess up things that works with our needs..? ;-)
