So TCP/IP with most parameters set as default (have you ever setting up
AX.25 T1, T2, T3, T4 timers and many other things while using TNC or
TFPCX? So the same could be done here)

S51RM wrote some time ago about errors on packet net. The conclusion was
that it's almost impossible for error to appear on the protocol level.
So what causes hundreds of .ERR files? BBS software, not handshaked
connections between TNC and PC, etc.
