My thnks to Robert in DL, my only reply.
Following his advice, I have used the -kx function:
To extract (copy) a key from your public or secret key ring:
pgp -kx userid keyfile [keyring]
or: pgp -kxa userid keyfile [keyring]
So pgp -kx g0tez g0tez.asc pubring.pgp produced
G0TEZ.ASC

Obviously, this is only a simple test key for practice purposes but
it's the right size and format for a public key.
Robert also added, whhich I think might interest people:

I thought that the whole world had given up to pgp signatures but
obviously not. It is very useful to be able to prove that your callsign
has been pirated if that happens but rules are rules and, if the UK law
says 'NO' then we can't do it.
I have never had mine pirated, I hope but if it did happen, it would be
nice to be able to prove it wasn't me who sent it.
I did get a nasty message from someone pirating a French call sign earlier
this year and the genuine owner of the callsign was very upset about it.
The pirate had telnetted via another BBS so he was impossible to trace but
it was unpleasant, especially as the pirate appeared to know me even though
it turned out that his msg had originated in South America.
This is a new problem which wasn't around in 1995 when telnet access wasn't
common. 1995 was when we had the big pgp debate in the UK.
All the best, especially to you, Robert.
