Subject: Commodore 64 Source?

My trusted old Commodore 64 finally went kaput. It's already been through 3 or
4 power supplies but this time, I think the whole unit is just plain tired.

Anyone know of a reputable source of new-like or re-conditioned C=64s and
power
supplies. I know all about eBay and have looked there and have bought various
other stuff there without a problem, but for some reason, I just would rather
seek out another alternative to that route.

I would rather stay with the C=64 since my PK232 runs off it, as does a
satellite tracking program. I could upgrade the 'puter (I have an upgraded 386
Compaq that could do the work) but I would have to replace both applications
running fine off the 64.

Any help and direction is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

If you don't mind a bit of kludge, the C-64 just needs +5 at a few amps and
+12 at an amp or so, I believe.... I can find pinouts, if you need.

Usually, all that goes wrong is the regulator transistor. If it is NOT the
potted version you can fix it.

Reply by email if you need drawings; I'll have to dig in the corner in the
back of the third sub-basement behind the burned out light bulb...

Are you interested in a professionally designed, full-color QSL? I design
first rate cards, you print yourself using your color printer. Full-custom
cards (including those with photos) are a flat $30. I have many "stock"
club designs for FISTS, QCWA and others too. These are $15.

Print as many or a few as you need, have several designs for your
mobile/portable ops, DXpedition, or club activities. Does your club have a
logo, or need a club station QSL? PLEASE checkout my site and give me the
chance to save you some money AND give you the quality and choice you want.
Visit http://www.n7gsu.com and have a look at what I can do for you or your
club.

Thanks and 73,
