Tell me.... what are the disadvantages of having

Yes!

That you can use frimwares for tnc2 and compatilbes.

You can get free firmwares for example the good tf2.7b from nordlink.
You can be sure that you can use it with what ever software you want.
And you can use flexnet, which is a very good thing.

GP1.61? I can't manage to get the modem working properly...
