Thanks for the info,
Yes it was that the MINQUAL was set higher than the port quality, for some
reason !.

I have been reding up more about the node system, and have got the system
working nicely now.
One thing i am not sure about is how the quality of a new connection is
known....
The quality of any connection is set as a certain amount for known nodes.

I know that new nodes 'seen' will have the default quality, but will that
quality be automatically be changed depending on the node being heard or not
over a specific time ??

I presume this is similar to how it actually works....

Thanks

I'd suggest you get either a Keyspan USB PDA adapter (Wintel style serial
port) or the Keyspan Serial Adapter (Mac mini-din style serial port). You
should then be able to use any software that was written to use the Mac's
serial toolkit. If it writes directly to the serial port, however, it won't
work with the adapters. Apple's position is against direct access to ports
for this reasion. The Mac OS has a serial port "shim" to redirect all calls
to the serial port out your USB to the adapter.

Hello all,
recent msgs originating in Europe and some requests from SysOps to translate
into English language a document (see ref. 4 of attached text), concerning
some notes about 'Forwarding designator elements' written in italian language,
prompt me to collect, and then, studying and synthetizing, the most recent
'official' documentation, with the aim also to revisit and up-to-date our ham
documentation.
I hope to be suceeded in elaborating the present work and that, this might
help someone on the matter and so, as a contribute for all ham-radio
community.
