I haven't. However, check with Kantronics. I believe that one of the changes
between the 9612 and the 9612+ was GPS support. I also noted that their web
site did have some alternative PROMs available (but since I wasn't looking for
APRS-type features, I merely glanced over that stuff).

Subject: PK232 Problem
Resurrected my 232 TNC today. Am experiencing a problem. When I switch on
the TNC the MORSE led and the CMD led lights up. I am using PC PACKRATT II
as the software. However I get LINK ERROR when trying to initalise the
programme. I tried to reset by removing the battery jumper on the underneath
of the TNC for 1 min.
Any thoughts on how I may overcome this.

Interested in getting into Packet Radio but have concerns as to which TNC
I should favor... I have been looking at the AEA PK-12, Kantronics KPC-3
plus and MFJ 2170C?
Anyone having a thought towards these I would appreciate the guidedance.
