G'day greg and group,
Is that a 1720 or 1270? I'm using a 1270B (and 1278) for netrom here and
will reply as if it is a 1270(b).
Being a TNC2 clone it will take an X1J4 (or other) netrom eprom. Could
require a very small mod to an address line. There are docs out there
somewhere for it. Can't remember what I did with mine.
They are in use around here as network nodes.
Or you can put them into KISS mode and use software, like G8BPQ, that
supports netrom. I think this would be a better option for home use. I have
one in use like that here. There is a little bit of info about it on my home
page. You can use them in KISS mode with Linux too if you don't mind the
steep learning curve.
The above options might be a bit of an overkill for what you want. But they
are fun to play with.
