Bill,
Have you had you PK-12 working with your current computer and Windows 98 and
any program? The most common WIN 95/98 problem our tech support people at
Timewave see is indentifying which COM port you are using (Win95/98 is way
too "smart"). We generally suggest using Hyperterminal to help find the
proper COM port - Hyperterminal (under -Start - Programs - Accessories -
Hyperterminal) allows a direct connection to each COM port without other
program features getting in the way. If you have a modem installed in your
computer, another useful way to find out what COM ports you have to go to
Control Panel - Modems - Modem Properties - Diagnostics. This shows which COM
ports are installed and their current applications.

The other common problem is IRQ conflicts - go to Control Panel - system -
device manager - view devices by connection - this will show you the IRQ
assignments. Also look under view devices by type to check for COM port
assignments. If you see a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it you
have a connection or IRQ or other device problem that need to be resolved.

Try Log Windows again when you have the COM ports and IRQs figured out. This
usually resolves 80 -90 % of our tech support calls of this type!

If you still can't get it working, give us a call on Monday at 651-222-4858,
or send an e-mail to jdouglas@timewave.com.

73 es gud luck,

Hello Bill,

Pull JP-1 so the unit is reset. Set the correct comport in LW and send an *.
It should respond, If not, try a couple of control C commands.
