Thanks! I think I get it, and I don't even need a morse code
examination, that was my fear from the old days, when I would have to
learn morse code.
I adore communications, but I am totally unable to learn morse.
And all this time it wasn't necessary!
So: I need an antenna, but what bands can I use?
I know there is something going on a around 200MHz,
How do I calculate throughput from frequency band?
Can I for instance modulate a 200Mhz signal with 50Mhz, and get a close
to 50Mbit transfer rate?
What is the maximum transfer rate I can hope for?
I would like to make my system available to others, I suppose that I
will act as a 'node' in a radio network, and if I make my Linux box
available as a repeater, then more people get access through my box?
Any publicly available HOWTO's?
Thanks, Atle

Hi Rick,
Many thanks for your response. It wouldn't be the first time a vendor
has forced you to give something up by paying for an upgrade (to V8.2E
firmware)!
Best,
Carver

Carver,
If I remmber right, James Orleff who wrote the code, made some changes
to it with version 7.0 firmware (which was a major upgrade for
Kantronics for host mode coders) and they released 2.3.
I can tell you for a fact that Hostmaster 2.3 works with the KAM-E and
Kamplus with the 8.x firmware.
Looks like you have two options, upgrade to 2.3 or move to other
software.
As you may know, for DOS their is KA-Gold; for Windows 3.1 XPwin and
KA-Win and for Windows 95/98/NT/2000 Pacterm '98.
