You can't use a tcm3105 based modem for 300bps packet!

Subject: help: MFJ 1278 commands

I am returning to amateur radio after a 5 year break. I am now trying
HF. I have a MFJ-1278. I lost the manuals and now wish to try and copy
Morse and other modes with it. Does anyone know the commands to do
this? If anyone has the books for this TNC and would photocopy them I
would be most gratefull and would cover costs +.

btw.. the radio (Kenwood TS-530) and tnc can talk to each other, but I
have yet to try and send anything.

Subject: Packet Radio in your Palm(s)?

Does anyone know of compact, battery powered, truly portable TNC
hardware?

I am thinking of developing a packet TNC that fits in a Palm Pilot
snap-on modem housing, with spkr/mic connections to a handheld radio,
want to make sure I'm not re-inventing someone else's wheel.

Anyone who is interested in such a product, please respond with a little
info:

1. What TNC do you currently use?

2. What handheld radio would you hook your "Palm connected" TNC to?

3. What type of Palm OS device would this TNC connect to (II, III, V,
etc?)

4. What would you consider a fair price for the TNC?

Thanks in advance!
