Subject: PK88 - Problem
I recently acquired a PK88 tnc which works well. There is one small
problem though. The internal clock appears to running about twice as
fast as it should. This results in the time stamp function being of no
use and also the timing periods for sending the cw ident and other non
proto events occur twice as fast as they should. I have also noticed
that cw ident is sent at what appears to about 30 - 35 wpm.
Is this a common problem, and if so is there a cure?
Thanks in advance.
Roger.

Hello Roger,
If you have a freq counter, measure freq at IC 16 pin 6, should be 4.91 +- 1
Mhz
IC 17 pin 6 should be half the basic osc freq (approx 2,45Mhz).
Let me know what you find and we can make a pretty good guess.

Good point! Ah yes, "the land of the free" - what a joke, eh?
