Subject: AEA items FS
I have a variety of items that are made by, or for,
various AEA TNCs, etc. for sale:
5 pin plug - This is the plug that plugs in to the
back of a PK-232, and has a cable that goes to the
mic connector of the radio. Use this to make your
own cable. $1 each or 3 for $2.
PK-232 cable. This is the cable that comes with the
PK-232, and goes to the radio. It has the 5 pin plug
on one end, and nothing on the other end. $ 10
MFJ-5086X. Made by MFJ for use with the PK-232.
This cable has the 5 pin plug that goes in the back of the
PK-232, and goes to an 8 pin mic jack that fits most
Kenwood and Alinco radios. It also has a cable that
goes to the speaker jack. This one is new. List is
$25, but this one is only $15.
AEA wall power supply. 12 V DC at 1 amp for
use with the PK-232. This one is a real AEA, not 3rd party.
Lists for $25, but this one is only $15.
AEA PK-88 TNC with mailbox. Looks just like new.
Includes manual and cables. $ 70
Here are a couple of oldies:
AEA MBA text. This is a plug in cartridge that gives
RTTY capabilities, plus some other digital things to
either a VIC 20 or a Commodore 64. New with manual.
I have 2 for the VIC 20 and one for the C-64.
Make an offer on these.
Prices do not include shipping from Florida.
Thanks.
73,
Ken, W8EK

Has anyone used the Kantronics 9612 Plus for
9600 baud satellitte work? Comments?
Seems like a lot for the money.

Not really, for 9k6 packet can you get a much cheaper modem or a much
better tnc.
Kantonics tncs doesn't support 6pack (so you are stuck with the wothless
kiss and there for will it never work as good as a much cheaper modem)
and they are too slow to use as stand alone tncs or in hostmode, can't
handle a good packet driver or node. The firmwares is not very good and
you also has to pay for firmware upgrades.
To buy a kntronics tnc for packet use to day is kind of stupid.
Take a look at yam!

Baycoms 9k6 modems

Or tnc3 if you want a good tnc.

Hello, I'm looking for firmware 6.0 or higher for an older kpc-3. The prom
must have 28 pins, not 32 pins which the kpc-3+ has. Please e-mail me if
you have available.
