Subject: Baypac BP1 Pocsag?

Recently, a relative of mine showed me his new laptop and he had
a Baypac BP1 Packet Modem attached to the serial port. After setting up his
HT to the BP1, he then proceeded to launch a program, I believe it was
called
PocPage and he triggered his numeric pager that he was carrying. I asked him
for a copy of the program to use with my BP1, but after he left, I found
that the diskette had several read errors, so I was out of luck.

Many of the locals here have been asking about Ham Radio paging for the
local
emergency weather link and I suggested the Baypac Idea, but none of them are
aware of any software that can send Pocsag pages via the BP1, although they
do know about software that can decode pocsag.

Does anyone know of such program(s)? I am familiar with PE 3.0, but I was
hoping to use the BP1 instead since it can operate in different modes.

Please respond to newsgroup or email two_way@excite.com

Thanks!
