CSS announces host mode program for Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT 32
to
support MFJ TNCs

Muscle Shoals, Alabama. July 16, 1999: Creative Services Software announced
today beta testing has begun for a new 32 bit host mode programs for the MFJ
TNCs The program takes advantage of the advanced features of Windows 95 ,
Windows 98, and Windows NT. MultiComm Host will use the TNC’s ‘BLP’ host mode
for Packet communications.

Company President Rick Ruhl, N4GDO, said, “ We’re working with MFJ on some
firmware and functionality challenges and once testing is complete, we’ll have
the first 32 bit Host Mode program for the MFJ and TNC2 based TNCs. BLP Host
Mode was created by Howard Goldstein, N2WX, in 1991 and according to the MFJ
technical staff, we are the first company in the 8 years it’s existed to
successfully interface to it. “

Product features include: Each stream has its own window and transmit buffer,
support for the major callbooks on CD, user configurable colors and fonts, a
‘bottomless’ receive window, automated connections, binary file transfer, runs
true 32 bit multitasking and multithreading and is easy to use with online
help
at your fingertips.

“The program is written in robust C++ “, Ruhl said. “Which allowed us to add
features to the program that couldn’t be done in other languages.ö

Creative Services Software, Inc was incorporated in 1988. They created the
32-bit Terminal program for Kantronics TNCs called PacTerm ’98 and PK-Term ’99
for AEA/TimeWave TNCs. The web address is http://www.cssincorp.com .

Subject: Future of Packet

I am considering getting into packet and buying a TNC. But I do have
some concerns. Where is packet going? Will it be worth it to buy a TNC
and will packet still be around? The thing that interests me is the
TCP/IP links. From what I understand, a person can browse the Internet
from anywhere. Maybe somebody could enlighten me a bit.
