Subject: AGW and Soundcard Problem

I am having a problem with the AGW system and my sound card. I just want to
monitor
packet not transmit.

I have my receiver hooked up to my system and can clearly hear 1200 buad
packet over
the speakers and can record it using the sagebrush vox recorder.

I have installed the agw main and monitor packages. And setup a 1200 buad
SoundCard
TNC. I go to the monitor program and can hear the packet on my receiver but
see
_nothing_ on the screen.

Here are the basics of my system:

PII-300
128 megs of ram.
Serial port is turned off (not sure if this is important since I don't want
to transmit)
PRO-2066 receiver
Freq: 144.93

Could you please translate the following two paragraphs to Portuguese
for me?

(1) I would appreciate your changing the user status to 'BBS' for
callsign GB7xxx. You do this with the EU command.

(2) Please set up a forwarding file for GB7xxx so that this station
can also receive mail from you. Make sure that you have IF MAN on the
line above C C GB7xxx, and ENDIF below it.

Many thanks in advance!

73, Per (G0DJT/LA9GG).

REPLY:

abaixo dele.

Will this do?

Subject: Multiplexers?

Hi Per.
Do you KNOW for a fact what devices are in your system, not just what W95
reports? W95 is notorious for misidentifying devices/irqs. It is very
possible you have IRQ's available. Check your hardware and documentation.
You may not need to have IRQ7 assigned to a printer. If you are not
running a 16 bit async card you may want to invest in one. They allow you
to use some of the IRQ's between 9 and 15. Basically, "know" your
hardware!
Another thought, if you are using the built in ports check that you can
set up the shared IRQ's in the BIOS. Just doing it in the Windows Control
Panel is not sufficient.
If none of this works there is another possibility. Use BPQ as your comm
driver and node firmware in your TNCs and set up a diode matrix a-la
TheNet nodestack fashion. Not very elegant I know but it would work.

I run Kantronics TNC's which FBB doesn't support very well therefore the
need for BPQ. I also run about 50% of the time under OS/2 which has no
problem with shared IRQ's provided it is done correctly.
