Subject: CUSTOM setting for Yapp with AEA DSP232?

Having had abject failures in using Yapp with Winpack and my AEA DSP232
I found a reference in the TNC manual to the CUSTOM settings. It appears
that I need to cut down the amount of memory used in the DSP232 to get
Yapp to work properly.

At the moment my CUStom setting is $0A15
I think the first byte needs to be set to 4 so I assume that I need to
enter a new value of $4A15 though things don't seem to be working out
right as yet. I've tried $4000

If you have a DSP232 working with Yapp it would help a lot if you would
let me know what value you have set for CUSTOM.

Fingers crossed and TIA

Hello Gary:

If you are running WIN95/98 or NT try downloading PK TERM 99 from
http://www.timewave.com It supports all of the AEA/Timewave TNC's. The
download is a demo theat runs VHF packet only but you can see the software in
action. If you like the software the activation key is available for $79,95
from Timewave. The key turns on all the HF features.

Subject: FT-51R to AGW Packet Engine - Connections ?

Hi.

Does anyone have details of how to connect the FT-51R handheld transceiver
to a PC running the AGW Packet Engine to drive a sound card (non PSA) ?

I already have the RX side connected okay, but I am confused how to connect
the pins from the COM port and the Sound Out line of the sound card together
? I can find separate diagrams for each of these but not specifically for
the FT-51R.

Many Thanks,
Martin.

Are there any good entry-level sites on running linux and packet?
The HAM HOWTO seems quite out of date and there are a lot of
things about the AX25 HOWTO which I don't understand.

Subject: WinFBB7.0G - Password progs etc.

Hi, Halfway through building my new FBB system here to replace my old
5.15c system. Can any one recomend Good Password programs (like
G6WHL/G4WPT) and Mail Filter (by Faragher@GB7AYI) programs that are
designed to run under WINFBB. I am almost sure I saw some messages once
either on here or on Packet regarding non compatablity between the dos
versions of the above and Windows 95 FBB.

Any help would be greatfully accepted.
Regards.
