AMENDED DATES OF 2006 RAFARS COUNCIL MEETING AT DCAE COSFORD.
20th Jun is now 27th Jun. 19th Sep. 14th Nov.
An invitation to an Area Rep to attend each meeting will continue.
Any member may ask to attend but travel expenses are not paid.
RAF HALTON RADIO CLUB.
Jim G4PFR AR for Buckinghamshire regrets that he has been unable to form a
RAFARS Radio Club at RAF Halton. The main problem was the rules require
50% serving members and there are none on the Station. Jim also reports
that only a handful of his Buckinghamshire members attend meetings held in
the RAFA Club. He has sent a Newsletter to all his members.
VP8RAF DEBRIEF (see NL91A and NL92)
It was reported by Mike G0NRK that, due to very poor conditions on all
bands, no contacts were made with any Stations or Members. Mike wishes to
thank all Members who listened for him and thanks to Mike for the chance
of getting VP8RAF on the air. It was such a pity comms were so poor on DX.
One bit of news however is that Stanley now has mobile phone facilities.
BRITISH ARMED FORCES VETERANS BADGE.
A Veterans Lapel Badge similar to a Squadron Badge is available to those
who served in the British Armed Forces anytime up to 2359hrs 31 December

REMINDER QAP G8FC ON THE AIR FIRST MONDAY OF THE MONTH.
Stan G0BYA and Don M0FHM will be QRV with G8FC at HQRAFARS every first
Monday of the month using CW on the hour and SSB on the half hour. QAP
around the RAFARS frequencies between 1000-1200 and also from 1330-1500hrs
G3RAF CALL-SIGN.
G3ICH Peter CW Net Controller will use callsign G3RAF for the next two
months 01 Mar - 30 Apr.
VIDEOS FOR LOAN TO MEMBERS
Four videos have been donated to the Society by Kathy, wife of the late
Barry G4ACK. Members may borrow them on a "pay post and packing basis".
There is "On a Wing and a Prayer" a wartime history of Bomber Command and
the boxed set (3) "A History of the Royal Air Force".
