PATRON'S VISIT TO RAFARS HQ
About a dozen members were at HQ on Wednesday 10th November to greet our
Patron, Air Marshall Sir Eric Dunn RAF (Retd) G3KED. During the visit, Sir
Eric joined in a special Net on 3.705MHz. Because of interference problems
the frequency had to be changed at short notice. A full report with photos
will be published in the Spring QRV.

RADIO MAGAZINES
The RAFARS library has almost all "Radcomms" from 1969 to the present date
and many "Practical Wireless" from 1946 to 1983. To save space and clutter
these mags. and many others will be destroyed by the end of January 2005.
It is not feasible to sort and post them out in dribs and drabs but Mike
the Administrator will gladly help load them into a vehicle if a member is
prepared to take the job lot. Phone or e-mail Mike at RAFARS HQ. 

RAFARS QRV EDITOR REQUIRES.
Stories, events, photos, your society and club news of today, Air Training
Corps News, Photos of your shack etc, etc by e-mail to:- 
qrv-editor@rafars.org or 2e1raf@thersgb.net. Correspondence by post to
QTHr in the QRZ Call book under G0TAK (see Sup 2 page 6 for address). All 
correspondence will be acknowledged. Only by members input can Roy produce
our QRV Magazine: so, everyone to keyboard to send, or put pen to paper.

RAFARS MARKETING MANAGER.
A volunteer for the post of Marketing Manager is urgently required,
contact Mike the Administrator at RAFARS HQ.

NEWS FLASH 5 Dec RAFARS Christmas Contest. Rules on page 50 of Autumn QRV.
9 Jan 2005 RSGB CW AFS Contest. Organise a RAFARS Team within 50 miles of
           your area and inform Roger G3ZDW soonest 
15 Jan     RSGB SSB AFS Contest. Contact Roger G3ZDW if you have a Team.
7/8 Oct    RAFARS Dinner and AGM RAF Cosford. 

GB2RAF AIR DEFENCE RADAR MUSEUM RAF NEATISHEAD RAFARS PERMANENT S.E.S.
GB2RAF will be QRV 11 Dec. The Station is operational every month on the
second Saturday from 1000-1500 local time. 
On Sat 13 Nov GB2RAF worked 78 Stations most on SSB and a few on the key.
Conditions where quite good considering there was a contest on. The sad 
news was that I had no helpers.
All RAFARS/RNARS/R.SIGS who would like to operate or visit the station are
welcome. Phone Terry, G4PSH, on 01692 582064 if you wish to operate.
(Operators please bring your Amateur Licence and I/D).

AIR TRAINING CORPS RADIO.
It is hoped that in February 2005 1132 ATC Squadron in Norfolk RAFARS 4100
using GB2ATC will establish communication on 2mtrs with the International
Space Station. This has been arranged by Terry G4PSH who is the Squadron
CI Radio Officer.
RAFARS Members please contact News Desk for information if you wish to
join the Air Training Corps as a Radio Civilian Instructor.

AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS INTERNATIONAL NET.
Ernest W1BFA RAFARS 2919 still runs the net 1000 to 1200 UTC every day on
14.279 then to 18.124, 21.237, 24.944, 28.344 SSB and ends up on 29.344
FM.
All RAFARS members are welcome to give Ernest a call.

INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION/SHUTTLE.
Between 12 May 3 June 2005 STS114 (OV103) Shuttle Discovery 
Seventeen's Flt visit to the ISS. Multi Purpose Logistics Module.
