RAFARS AGM 2004
An excellent annual dinner and AGM meeting was had by all at the Aviator
Hotel Sywell with, as far as I know, no complaints received from anyone.
G4PSH was QAP on 144.725 (except for the AR Meeting and AGM) and it was
good to work G0JKW Peter, G4NVD Ernie and G3ZDW Roger on M/P mode. Talk-in
was required.
33 members and their guests, including the retiring President, Air Cdre
Bruce Wynn, attended the dinner. Only 28 attended the AGM - 7 Councillors,
6 Area Reps. and 15 Members.
There were no major changes to report. Subscriptions remain the same. Roy
G0TBY resigned from Council, his place taken by the QRV Editor, G0TAK, who
was co-opted at the last AGM. Martin G4SOH won the Constructors Cup for an
Antenna 4 gang switch.Bob G0DAM was presented with the G2LR Trophy for his
services with the Road Show and as Treasurer.
A copy of the AGM minutes can be obtained from Mike G7JPN by e-mail or by
sending a C5 SAE to RAFARS HQ.
The next AGM will be held at RAF Cosford on 8th Oct 2005.

I was, for personal reasons, not able to attend the AGM and I tendered my
apologies to the chairman prior to the event. I have been informed that a
member said that I was difficult to get hold of which was a surprise to
me.
There are several ways to get my attention:

I try to acknowledge each item of mail, wherever it comes from, by return.

15 Jan RSGB SSB AFS Contest. Contact Roger G3ZDW if you have a Team.
GB2RAF AIR DEFENCE RADAR MUSEUM RAF NEATISHEAD RAFARS PERMANENT S.E.S.
GB2RAF will be QRV 13 Nov. The Station is operational every month on the
Second Saturday from 1000-1500 local time.
On the 16th Oct, 150 visitors including VIPs attended the Friends of the
Museum Annual Meeting Day. 90 QSOs where established on 80m 3.710Mhz. It
was good to work 15 JOTA Jamboree Stations. Operators were G6PAA Jim,
2E1EIV Alec and G0SCP Dave. Dave is a Net Controller for the R/Sigs which
was an ideal person to have as a guest operator.
All RAFARS/RNARS/R.SIGS who would like to operate or visit the station are
welcome. Phone Terry, G4PSH, on 01692 582064 if you wish to operate.
(Operators please bring your Amateur Licence and I/D).
