Just check if the local node does know a route to the node you wish 
to connect to. Type n and then enter, a NETROM node will then give you 
the complete list of nodes that it should be able to connect to if you 
just type c node.
You normally also can use n followed by the first letters of the 
node you want to connect folowed by * (like n pi*).
If the desired node is not in the list, just think of a node you 
should expect to be in the path and connect that one first.
