Hello everyone,
I have been following this man on the moon thing with Andy Kaufman in
mind if you know the song and the story behind it. (;->)
My answer to thos silly questions about using it and going back is one
simple word, EXPLORATION. To explain, been there, done that, found
nothing of interest beyond a few rocks that answered our questions. Thus
satisfied, there is no reason to return AT THIS TIME. Sometime in the
future when space travel becomes practical beyond exploration, we will
use the moon in the ways that science fiction writers have envisioned.
Continuing our exploration, we now have our sights set upon MARS. Fly by
photographs have turned up THOUSANDS of interesting features which
require a closer examination which only a manned expedition can examine
properly, close up and personal.
That's what the moon landings were all about in the first place, but
since there is little to be found, the project was short lived. Mars has
vastly more to offer so we will likely be walking around "up there" for
quite a long time to come.
As for those who think it's all a big fake, although I don't remember the
title, I saw the movie. I know darn well it was science fiction, the key
word being FICTION. It had no value beyond entertainment although there
are some who insist on reading something into it that was never there to
begin with. Ah, such is the land of imagination! BTW, O.J. Simpson played
great football but was a LOUSY actor, should have quit while he was ahead.
