Greetings.
Henry, PA7KK, gives a lot of questions, about the behavor of liquid water
on the surface on Mars, when let into the open, and the low pressure.
Theese questions I did put into a greater perspective, trying to look
ahead, an see what happend, if we look at the problem, in a larger scale.
The result is anything but bright. Following text is my personal mind
displayed, about the subject: How water acts on Mars, an what if....
This could be very informative, if executeable. But I don't think, Nasa
would send a probe to Mars, just to try it out :-)
Another question, very close to the subject is, what happen, if the
pressure increase. Could it be possible, to increase the pressure, and
perhaps gain more temperature, so humans could stay alive, without
livesurporting equipment, or at least minor equipted, like divers,
compared to spacework suits, known from the Nasa spaceflights with
the shuttles.
If pressure could be increased, and water found/generated, perhaps organic
plants and other livesupporting activites would be able to prepare the
planet for permanent live.
We do know, the future of our Sun is deathly for Earth, within 1*10^9
years, or so, why we have to leave the planet for ever. Maybe there's no
humans on Earth then, but why not try to think ahead anyway.
In near future, the population on Earth grows twice the numbers as today.
We can't expect to gain more food, and the common health will drop, cause
need of oxygen. Tropic rainforrests is still under atack, due to
non-thinking creatures, who belive in money in short terms, and don't care
for our future, in 4 or 5 generations. So it could perhaps soon be needed,
to search for more room, just to stay even.
The need for a solution grows for every single day. The science works too
slow, if we may win the game. Maybe a financial transfer from the millitary
to science, could improve the effort and results. Wars kills pepole, not
saveing pepole. And who can claim to win, if no one left ?!?
Another issue is the watch for meteors: below 2% of Nasa's budget used to
scan the space to wild bullets. The doom bullet may be discovered by
amateurs, because no proffesionel watchers get paid, for this importent
work. Firebullets have been observed sevel times, and who knows, when the
final bullet hit the Earth. Jupiter can't protect us against every single
object, flying around in space. An what happend, if too short time of
warning. The last few comets where very close, before they were dicovered,
and the speed of them, is slow, compared to the wild bullets. I belive we,
the humans, have to think twice, and recalculate budgets.
If Earth is hit by a massive destructive bullet, it would be nice, if we
could escape, and continue our live, perhaps on Mars.
A very worried citizen on Earth.
