It appears that the new system was written in Visual C for windows.
This makes a lot of sense since 98% of the world is using some form of
windows. I'm one of the 2% that use something else, in my case Linux.

A new communication system is best written in straight C and made
available to others who want to port it to either there existing
software or to another operating system. It appears instead that it was
written for windows EXP and doesn't run well on windows 98. It really
hard to take a windows source code and re-write it for even a command
line Linux program.

So I fear people running Olivia are going to get lonely.
